Perry has the father of actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. Her first appearance was in television shows in the role of Jackie Harris, a character played by her mother in her role on the ABC comedy Roseanne. She did not pursue acting as a career until she reached the age of adulthood due to her parents being worried about the detrimental effects that stress could have.
